GLASS EYE WEEKEND
16th + 17th May 2008
After a short Hiatus (a little Korean car) The Glass eye is back! Pete (the original glass eye guy has retrieved it from my back burner (ooer!) and is looking for talent!
The Glass Eye music and performance weekend at the Smugglers is The major showcase for singer songwriters and performers in Hastings. Starting at 5.30 (earlier if busy!) and finishing late.
The event comprises of 30 minute slots booked in advance by artists wishing to perform.
Acts can be music, poetry, comedy -
The only rules are NO COVERS! In order to keep a level playing field artists must stick to their own ORIGINAL material, parodies of well known songs are ok (well, I would say that wouldn’t I!)
Anybody caught trying to sneak in “Stairway to Heaven” or any Bob Dylan will be unceremoniously fed to the seagulls and the bleached and splintered remnants of their instruments will be hung from a nearby lamppost as a deterrent!
On the plus side, performers at the Glass Eye have been known to get gigs at the
Smugglers, other pubs and then on to world-
